15 Most Popular Magnum Ice Cream Flavors

Magnum is known for its iconic ice cream flavors wrapped in a crunchy chocolate shell.

As one of the best ice cream brands, the company began production in Denmark in 1988 and has since expanded its product line from vanilla ice cream bars to many other flavors and forms of dessert.

Since Magnum is a global brand, there are dozens of unique flavors worldwide, from Australia’s Honeycomb Crunch to Canada’s Strawberries & Cream.

Today, I’ll rank the 15 best Magnum ice cream flavors in the US, but there are plenty more out there if you happen to live in a different country.

Without further ado, let’s get to my favorite Magnum ice cream bars and tubs!

15. Non-Dairy Hazelnut Crunch Bar

The first two Magnum flavors on the list happen to be non-dairy bars.

Before we get any further, though, let me clarify that these are good non-dairy dessert options.

The only reason they’re at the bottom of my list is because they’re not justas creamy and luxurious as Magnum’s dairy ice cream bars, but I’d still happily eat them.

Alright, with disclaimers out of the way, let’s talk about the Hazelnut Crunch Bar!

This dessert bar is made with hazelnut ice cream with a salted caramel swirl.

The ice cream is dipped in a dairy-free chocolate coating and finished with caramelized hazelnut pieces.

Instead of milk, this bar uses plant-based ingredients like pea protein to give its ice cream-like texture.

Although slightly icier than their dairy counterparts, these ice cream bars shouldn’t be passed over.

They have a delightful salty-sweet flavor combo going on with the salted caramel and nuts.

I’m not a big fan of hazelnuts, but these bars taste more like chocolate and caramel with just a hint of nuts, which is why I like them.

14. Non-Dairy Sea Salt Caramel Bar

Just like Magnum’s Hazelnut Crunch Bar, the Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream Bar is also made without any milk or animal products.

The base of the bar is a sea salt caramel-flavored ice cream, which is wrapped in a thick chocolatey coating.

Even though the chocolate coating doesn’t contain any dairy, it still has that iconic snap you expect from a Magnum bar when you bite into it.

The difference between this bar and the hazelnut bar is the ice cream texture.

Magnum’s Sea Salt Caramel ice cream is so thick and smooth that I really couldn’t tell it was made without dairy.

I honestly think that if you didn’t tell people these bars were dairy-free, no one would suspect a thing!

13. Mini Almond Ice Cream Bar

Magnum’s Mini Almond Ice Cream Bar packs a lot of flavor into a little treat.

This dessert starts with vanilla bean ice cream, which is dipped in a 44% cacao milk chocolate shell and then sprinkled with sea salt roasted almonds.

The almonds bring two uniquely delicious qualities to this bar.

Firstly, they amplify that crunch you already get from the cracking chocolate shell.

Secondly, they add some salt into the equation, which brings out the vanilla and chocolate flavors more.

Plus, these little guys are perfectly sized, like all the mini bars in Magnum’s ice cream line are.

These clock in at just 150 calories per bar, making them the perfect couple of bites of indulgence whenever you’re craving something sweet (and just a little salty).

12. Chocolate Duet Ice Cream Bar

Next up, we’re exploring Magnum’s “Duets” line of ice cream bars, which, according to the company, are the first ice cream bars ever to be dipped in two different kinds of chocolate.

The shell itself is made with two different kinds of Belgian chocolate.

In this case, it’s a white chocolate shell that fully envelops the ice cream, which is then dipped halfway into a milk chocolate shell to cover the top half of the ice cream bar.

Inside the Chocolate Duet Ice Cream Bar is a rich, creamy vanilla ice cream with tart, refreshing raspberry ribbons throughout.

I’m not a huge fan of white chocolate because I find it a bit too sweet.

So I wish this bar was fully dipped in milk chocolate, with just the top half dipped in white chocolate, but it’s otherwise a pretty delicious dessert.

The raspberry ripple gets major points for brightening up the flavors here and keeping the bar from venturing into cloyingly sweet territory.

11. Double Chocolate Ice Cream Bar

This one is for all the hard-core chocolate lovers out there!

Magnum really pulled out all the stops for their Double Chocolate Ice Cream Bar.

It starts off with a rich chocolate ice cream, which is dipped in a layer of cracking chocolate.

Then, the bar is dipped again into a smooth chocolate fudge sauce. But we’re not stopping there.

The twice-dipped bar is then dipped a third time, this time in a thick 44% cacao Belgian milk chocolate shell.

So, to recap, you’re getting four separate layers of chocolate with this bar – two layers of crunchy chocolate, a layer of gooey, fudgy sauce, and the inside layer of ice cream.

This bar is truly jam-packed with rich, decadent chocolate flavor.

You’ll get three different distinct textures with each bite, and even all three chocolate elements have a slightly different taste to them.

The fudgy sauce is definitely the sweetest of all three, balanced out by the ice cream and chocolate, which have just a tad of bitterness.

10. Double Gold Caramel Ice Cream Bar

If a triple chocolate bar sounds too one-noted for you, this next pick might be more up your alley.

There are plenty of differing flavors happening in Magnum’s Double Gold Caramel Ice Cream Bar.

For starters, we have sweet cream-flavored ice cream, which features a swirl of sea salt caramel throughout.

The ice cream is dipped in a regular chocolate coating followed by a layer of caramel sauce.

It’s finished with a caramelized chocolate coating made with 36% cacao and a brown sugar crunch.

Double Gold Caramel is one of the best store-bought ice cream bars because it’s unique.

The outer layer of caramelized ice cream is something between milk chocolate and white chocolate but with a complex, caramelized undertone that you won’t normally find in chocolate.

Sweet cream is one of my favorite ice cream flavors, no matter the brand.

It’s similar to vanilla but has more of a pure, old-fashioned taste (it’s hard to describe!).

The brown sugar crunch adds a bit more caramelized flavor and fun texture here, too.

9. Mini Classic Ice Cream Bar

Magnum’s Mini Classic Ice Cream Bar is their “tiny take” on the classic bar that started it all.

This treat begins with a small portion of vanilla bean ice cream covered in Magnum’s iconic 44% milk chocolate shell.

Just like the original bars, the vanilla ice cream here is super creamy and velvety.

Even though the bars are small, the chocolate shell is impressively thick yet easy to bite into.

The milk chocolate shell has a satisfying snap and easily melts in your mouth within seconds.

This bar is the same size as the almond bars I ranked earlier, so they’re portioned out perfectly if you’re looking for something sweet.

There’s no combination more classic than chocolate and vanilla, and Mangum nails it with their classically simple yet delicious mini bars.

8. Cookie Duet Ice Cream Bar

If you’ve ever had an ice cream cake, you’ve most likely tasted the chocolate crunchies in the middle of the ice cream layers.

To many people, they’re the best part of the dessert. Well, Magnum seems to have made this next dessert with crunchie lovers in mind!

The Cookie Duet Ice Cream Bar starts with a velvety vanilla ice cream swirled with chocolate ganache.

Then, the full bar is dipped in a layer of white Belgian chocolate.

The top half is covered in an additional layer of chocolate, this time Belgian milk chocolate.

But they don’t stop there – we still get one final element to finish off this bar.

There are dark chocolate cookie crumbles throughout both the white and milk chocolate layers.

With two layers of cracking chocolate, the coating here is extra thick. That’s my favorite part of these bars, so it’s a welcome overload as far as I’m concerned.

The dark chocolate crunchies are identical to crushed Oreos or the little crunchies found in ice cream cakes, so if you’re into those, you’ll keep coming back to this bar.

7. Dark Chocolate Ice Cream Bar

If you’re looking for a bit of sophistication in your ice cream bar, you should definitely try Magnum’s Dark Chocolate Ice Cream Bar.

It’s made with vanilla bean ice cream, enrobed in a layer of 60% cacao dark Belgian chocolate.

This ice cream bar is almost identical to the original milk chocolate Magnum bar.

But the percentage of cacao in the chocolate used (60% instead of the usual 44% milk chocolate) makes for an astonishingly unique flavor profile.

The dark chocolate used in this bar is significantly less sweet than the milk and white chocolate used in other bars on our list.

That doesn’t make it any less tasty, though.

Dark chocolate has a deeper, more complex flavor profile than milk chocolate.

It balances out the sweet vanilla ice cream, making for a beautifully balanced dessert bar.

This is definitely one of the best Magnum ice cream flavors, especially for those who like a dessert that isn’t crazy sweet.

6. Double Chocolate and Ganache Ice Cream Tub

Chocolate lovers, I’ve got another Magnum product you’ll love!

This one is like the Double Chocolate Ice Cream Bar but in tub form.

It starts with milk chocolate ice cream laced with chocolate ganache and thick pieces of crunchy milk chocolate.

The pint is topped off with a thick cracking shell made of 44% cacao Belgian milk chocolate.

Besides being incredibly chocolatey, this dessert strikes a great balance between sweetness and bitterness.

Instead of becoming overly sweet, which can happen in desserts jam-packed with chocolate, Magnum allows the chocolate’s natural bitterness to shine through to tame down any excess sweetness.

The bitterness also gives the dessert a bit more depth of flavor.

The chocolate shell on this ice cream is super thick and rich, and there are more pieces of shell throughout the ice cream.

If you’re like me and the shell is your favorite part of a Magnum dessert, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the shell-to-ice cream ratio in this product.

5. Double Raspberry Ice Cream Bar

Next up is the fruitiest product in Magnum’s lineup – the Double Raspberry Ice Cream Bar.

As you probably figured out from the name, this bar is packed with sweet and tangy raspberry flavor.

This dessert is made with wild raspberry ice cream, which is dipped in a layer of milk chocolate.

After that, it’s dipped again in a tart, smooth raspberry sauce.

Finally, it’s covered in one final layer of Belgian milk chocolate.

It goes without saying, but this is the perfect dessert for anyone who loves a berry-chocolate combination.

The raspberry flavor brightens up each bite and cuts through the sweet vanilla and chocolate flavors in this bar.

It’s one of the best Magnum ice cream flavors because there aren’t any other similar offerings in their lineup, and it’s a unique twist on the classic ice cream bar.

4. Milk Chocolate Vanilla Ice Cream Tub

Magnum’s Milk Chocolate Vanilla Ice Cream Tub is essentially a regular Magnum ice cream bar chopped up and packed into an ice cream carton.

It’s made with the same rich, creamy vanilla bean ice cream that Magnum uses in most of its products.

Throughout the ice cream are thick pieces of milk chocolate, and the top of the tub is also covered in a thick layer of that same milk chocolate.

The texture of this tub is unbeatable. The vanilla ice cream itself is velvety, smooth, and high quality.

The Belgian chocolate shell has the most satisfying crunch and is silky and smooth as it melts in your mouth.

This is one of the best Magnum ice creams because it keeps everything simple and doesn’t overcomplicate what’s already a virtually perfect product.

3. Double Caramel Ice Cream Bar

Now that we’re finally in our top three, you probably have a good idea of how this bar is formed.

It has an ice cream base, a specialty layer, and two layers of cracking Belgian chocolate.

The Double Caramel Ice Cream Bar starts with Madagascan vanilla bean ice cream dipped in its first layer of milk chocolate.

The middle layer is a rich, gooey caramel sauce, and the dessert is then finished with a final layer of cracking milk chocolate.

The caramel is what sets this product apart from the crowd.

It’s gooey, sweet, buttery and is the perfect companion flavor to vanilla and chocolate.

The caramel also stays gooey and smooth without getting runny and turning the bar into a mess.

2. Caramel Duet Ice Cream Bar

I almost made the Caramel Duet Ice Cream Bar my top pick for the Magnum ice cream flavors, but it got knocked down to the #2 spot simply because I prefer a tub of ice cream to an ice cream bar.

This bar is another product in Magnum’s “Duets” line.

It’s similar to the other Duet ice cream bars we went over, but it’s my favorite of them all because of the types of chocolate used and the ice cream itself.

This bar is dipped in two different kinds of chocolate – dark chocolate first and then the top half with milk chocolate.

Magnum’s dark chocolate has a unique flavor that adds just enough bitterness to transform this ice cream bar into a sophisticated treat.

The ice cream is caramel-flavored and has a caramel swirl, so you’ll get a bit of saltiness, which plays well with the sweet and bitter notes in this bar.

It’s like Magnum’s classic vanilla chocolate ice cream bar but amped up in every way possible.

1. Double Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream Tub

So we’ve made it to the top of the list, and what I think is the best Magnum ice cream flavor – the Double Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream Tub.

This beauty begins with Madagascan vanilla ice cream as its base.

Throughout the ice cream are thick fragments of milk chocolate and ribbons of sea salt caramel sauce.

At the very top of the pint is a thick shell of cracking Belgian milk chocolate.

I mentioned this while talking about the Milk Chocolate Vanilla ice cream tub, but this dessert is what would happen if you took a bunch of Magnum bars, crushed them up, and put them in a carton.

My favorite part of a Magnum bar is the chocolate shell, so I love that I can enjoy that crunchy shell throughout the entire pint, starting with the top and continuing with all the milk chocolate pieces in the ice cream itself.

Desserts with a touch of salt will always be top-tier for me because the sweetness from chocolate and vanilla is only amplified by the touch of sea salt.

With gooey caramel, crunchy chocolate, and creamy Madagascan vanilla ice cream, this frozen treat is a texture lover’s dream.

Not only is this my favorite Magnum ice cream flavor, but it’s also in my top ten favorite ice cream pints of all time.

Conclusion

There you have it – the best Magnum ice cream flavors!

What I love about Magnum is that their ice cream is never just ice cream. It’s always mixed with gooey caramel, tangy raspberry, or fudgy ganache.

And there’s the cracking Belgian chocolate shell on top that gives a satisfying crunch with each bite.

Of all Magnum ice cream products, I highly recommend their Double Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream Tub and Caramel Duet Ice Cream Bars.

Both options have so much texture and flavor going on, but at the same time taste simple and classic.

No matter which Magnum ice cream you pick up on your next grocery store run, you’re in for a truly indulgent treat.
