15 Best Ice Cream Bars to Buy in Stores

Ice cream bars are like ice cream but a whole lot more convenient. Whether you want a quick treat on the go or need to multitask as you enjoy your dessert, they are only rivaled in their conveniences by their deliciousness.

When it comes to variety, there are countless ice cream bars that will satisfy any sweet tooth, from classic and fruity creamsicles to newer products like Greek yogurt-based bars.

Today, I’ll give you the scoop on the best ice cream bars you can buy at the supermarket.

You might be surprised about my number one pick, though, because it’s not quite as well-known as most others on our list. Read on to see if your current or childhood favorites made the cut!

15. Yasso Coffee Chocolate Chip Bars

Yasso specializes in frozen Greek yogurt treats, and their bars are the most popular product in their lineup.

My favorite among them (and one of my favorite ice cream bars, period) is the coffee chocolate chip flavor.

Despite using froyo instead of actual cream, this bar has such a creamy, velvety texture.

The treat starts with a sweet coffee base and strong vanilla notes, with mini chocolate chunks throughout.

The chocolate chunks contrast nicely with the creamy base, bringing a mocha vibe to the ice cream bar.

Even if you’re not a huge fan of coffee ice cream (I personally don’t love it), you’ll still like these bars because the coffee flavor isn’t too strong.

Plus, each bar contains 5g of protein, which is just a bonus on top of an already delicious dessert.

14. Creamsicle Ice Cream Bar

When it comes to the combination of orange and vanilla, most people either love it or hate it. Even if you’re not a fan, you can’t deny that it’s a nostalgic flavor pairing.

Creamsicles are perfect for those looking for something refreshing on a hot day but don’t want to forgo the creamy, rich ice cream part of the equation.

So, the solution? A little bit of both. Sweet, citrusy orange sherbet with rich, creamy vanilla ice cream inside.

It is a little rich and a little refreshing – you can’t ask for much more in an ice cream bar.

There are plenty of creamsicle pops out there, but Good Humor has the OG, as far as I’m concerned.

13. Good Humor Chocolate Éclair Bar

As you read through my list of the best ice cream bars, you’ll realize I included quite a few made by Good Humor.

Up next is their Chocolate Eclair bar, which is basically chocolate cake and ice cream, all mixed together and put on a stick.

This ice cream bar features a fudgy chocolate center enveloped in vanilla ice cream. All that’s covered in a cake-crumb coating.

This dessert is perfect for those who love a vanilla-chocolate combo because there’s an even mix of both flavors here.

Good Humor bars are famous for their signature cake coating, which adds a slight crunch to the bar, but it’s mostly there to add some decadent, cakey flavor.

12. Disney Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar

Just like the Creamsicle, I admit that these made my list of the best ice cream bars mostly because of the nostalgia factor.

If you’ve ever been to Disney, you’ve probably had a mouse-shaped snack of some sort. Chances are, it was Disney’s iconic ice cream bar.

The shape is what really sets this ice cream bar apart from the others – it’s shaped like Mickey Mouse’s head.

Other than that, it’s filled with creamy vanilla ice cream and a chocolate coating.

Is it going to blow your mind in the flavor department? No, but it’s so cute that it doesn’t need to.

Mickey bars are infamous for melting within a few minutes, thanks to the Florida and California heat, so it’s a bonus that you can enjoy these in the comfort (and air conditioning) of your home.

I have to admit, though, that eating them on my couch doesn’t have “quite” the same magical effect that it has in the parks.

11. Häagen-Dazs Vanilla & Almond Ice Cream Bar

Häagen-Dazs’ vanilla and almond ice cream bar is ideal for those who want a no-frills dessert that satisfies both the flavor and texture department.

The ice cream in this bar is their signature Madagascar vanilla flavor, which tastes like classic vanilla but has more depth.

The ice cream is covered in a rich milk chocolate coating and toasted California almonds.

Everything about this ice cream bar is simple and high quality.

It’s like the girl-next-door of ice cream bars – you overlook it and forget it’s there, but once you’re acquainted, you wonder what took you so long to give it a chance!

10. Nestlé Crunch Ice Cream Bar

Nestle’s Crunch ice cream bar is another childhood favorite I just couldn’t leave off the list.

If you’ve never tried one, these ice cream bars are inspired by their candy counterpart, the Crunch bar.

Crunch bars are made of milk chocolate and crispy rice pieces (they’re what gives it that famous crunch).

So, a Crunch ice cream bar is essentially vanilla ice cream on a stick covered in a thin layer of chocolate and crunch.

There’s something so fun about Crunch ice cream bars – it comes down to that iconic, crispy, and crunchy texture the rice crispies provide.

Besides the crispies, though, it’s a regular, classic ice cream bar, so it’s the perfect option for those not looking to get “too” adventurous.

9. Good Humor Cookies & Creme Ice Cream Bar

Cookies and Cream is undoubtedly one of the best ice cream flavors. It has everything, including vanilla, chocolate, cookies, cream, and a delightful texture.

There’s no other flavor out there with that much to offer, and I think Good Humor’s cookies & creme ice cream bar is a must-try.

This bar starts with a cookie and cream base made of vanilla ice cream and crumbled-up pieces of chocolate cookie.

I’m pretty sure they used to use actual Oreos in their bars, but it looks like they’re using a generic cookie nowadays (not quite as good as Oreos, but that might be the placebo effect).

The ice cream is completely covered in chocolate cookie crumbles. And that’s it – just a simple combination of ice cream and cookie crumbles, but it’s one of the best ice cream bars out there.

It’s just sweet enough, with a tiny hint of bitterness from the chocolate.

It sort of tastes like a giant, frozen Oreo (or whatever non-name brand sandwich cookie Good Humor is using these days).

8. Dove Vanilla & Milk Chocolate Ice Cream Bar

When I think of ice cream bars (which I do quite often), this is the bar that pops into my head first.

Dove is, first and foremost, a chocolate company, so you can bet that the chocolate coating on this bar is the best on our list.

It’s creamy, rich, and fairly thick – you’re not getting a flimsy film of chocolate here.

The ice cream in this bar is Madagascar vanilla, which, like the Häagen-Dazs bar I mentioned earlier, is like regular vanilla but better.

It’s super rich, so even though these bars are fairly small, they taste luxurious and high-end as far as ice cream bars go.

If your favorite part of an ice cream bar is the outer shell, Dove’s classic vanilla bars are a must-try.

7. Good Humor Reese’s Peanut Butter Bar

Peanut butter lovers, listen up. Good Humor has a newer version of their iconic ice cream bars that might be right up your alley.

It’s like the chocolate eclair bar but with peanut butter and chocolate instead of vanilla and chocolate.

Picture this: salty and sweet peanut butter ice cream and a layer of frozen milk chocolate, all covered with pieces of peanut butter and chocolate cake crumbles.

If you’ve ever had a frozen Reese’s cup, these have a very similar flavor.

The chocolate and peanut butter crunchies on the outside work together to continue creating a perfect salty-sweet balance, and that peanut butter ice cream is super creamy and smooth.

6. Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake Bar

Okay, take a deep breath; we’ve finally made it to the last Good Humor bar on the list.

The best ice cream bar by Good Humor has to be their beloved strawberry shortcake flavor.

The very middle of the bar is made of strawberry ice cream, and that’s all wrapped in a generous layer of vanilla ice cream.

Then, on every square centimeter of available real estate, the bar is covered in strawberry and vanilla cake crumbs.

I don’t know what exactly makes that crumble on the outside so good, but I could easily eat it with a spoon and a bowl like cereal.

This treat is sweet and rich, but the strawberry flavor is pretty pronounced, which cuts through all that sugar and brightens everything up.

5. Magnum Double Caramel Ice Cream Bar

Magnum’s ice cream bars are next-level. They feature two layers of rich chocolate, one layer of caramel, and a rich vanilla ice cream base.

From inside to outside, the bars are layered with Madagascan vanilla bean ice cream, gooey milk chocolate coating, caramel sauce, and more chocolate (this time, it’s frozen instead of gooey).

These bars are decadent, rich, and have lots of different textural elements going on.

The two layers of chocolate are both Belgian chocolate, so you can be sure you’re in for a smooth, uber-rich bite!

4. Häagen-Dazs Dulce De Leche Churro Ice Cream Bar

Häagen-Dazs’ dulce de leche churro bar is easily one of the best ice cream bars of all time.

Besides my number one pick, it’s definitely the most unique option on this list.

The ice cream here is a cinnamon churro flavor, so it’s mostly vanilla with a dash of cinnamon sugar.

Throughout the ice cream are ribbons of sweet dulce de leche.

The ice cream is covered by caramel blonde chocolate and pieces of crunchy churro.

Blonde chocolate is essentially caramelized white chocolate, so it has sweet, caramel-y notes, which pair perfectly with the caramel ribbons in the ice cream.

These ice cream bars are full of warm cinnamon sugar flavors, and the crispy churro pieces add just enough texture to keep things interesting.

3. Snickers Ice Cream Bar

Let me start by admitting that I’m not a fan of regular Snickers candy bars. They’re not bad or anything; I just never reach for them.

However, I am a big fan of their ice cream counterpart!

Snickers ice cream bars start with a rectangle of peanut butter ice cream, which is then sprinkled with crunchy peanuts and caramel.

Then, all that is covered in a rich chocolate shell.

Snickers ice cream bars strike the perfect balance between salty and sweet.

The salt from the peanuts and peanut butter ice cream brings out the sweetness in the chocolate and caramel.

There are a couple of other textures going on here – crunchy peanuts, smooth ice cream and caramel, and a chocolate shell that crunches when you bite into it and then melts in your mouth.

If you like Snickers bars (or even if you don’t), this is a great all-around option with lots of different flavors and textures, so every bite is a little bit different.

2. Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pint Slice

The main appeal of an ice cream bar is the ice cream itself, right? So it’s of utmost importance that said ice cream is of the highest quality.

That’s where Ben & Jerry’s take on the ice cream bar comes in – the pint slice.

We start with Ben & Jerry’s classically creamy, rich, and velvety ice cream.

In this case, it’s their chocolate chip cookie dough flavor, featuring generous chunks of sweet and chocolatey dough.

This perfectly sliced cut of ice cream is then enrobed in a rich, smooth chocolate shell.

Bite into this ice cream bar, and you’ll get a satisfying crunch from the chocolate shell, along with an ultra-creamy mouthful of ice cream.

I think Ben & Jerry’s has some of the best ice cream lines out there, and they definitely have one of the best ice cream bars of all time.

Other flavors in this “pint slice” line include Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Americone Dream, and Vanilla Peanut Butter Cup.

1. Lotus Biscoff Cookie Butter Ice Cream Bar

There are two types of people in the world: those who love cookie butter and those who haven’t tried it yet!

Cookie butter is a creamy spread made with ground-up speculoos cookies, which are spiced cookies originating in Europe.

Lotus’ Biscoff ice cream bars take everything so good about cookie butter and amp it up by a hundred.

It starts with a cookie butter flavored ice cream (think vanilla with a hint of warm spices), which has chunks of Biscoff speculoos cookies throughout.

All that’s dipped in Biscoff cookie butter and then finished with a layer of Belgian chocolate.

But wait, we’re not completely done – that final layer of chocolate has more speculoos cookie pieces throughout!

Biscoff frozen bars are the best store-bought ice cream bars out there because, first and foremost, they’re made with actual ice cream.

The ice cream is super creamy and velvety and has the slightest hint of warm spices, including cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.

The crunchy cookie bits add such a satisfying texture, and the cookie butter and chocolate coating add a satisfying “crack” when you bite into it.

Conclusion

Ice cream bars are where deliciousness and convenience meet. You can find a variety of options in grocery stores, and some of these brands have been around for a long time.

The Biscoff ice cream bars have only been out for a few years, so definitely pick some up when you get a chance. I’ve yet to meet anyone who doesn’t love them.

If you’re an ice cream lover, you can’t really go wrong with any of the bars on our list. Let me know which one is your favorite!
