The Best Bagels at Tim Hortons
If you’re looking for a quick and filling breakfast on the go, there are a few options better than a Tim Hortons bagel.
While the Canadian-born chain might be better known for its donuts and Timbits, the Tim Hortons bagels menu is full of sweet and savory options that can be customized to your heart’s content.
You can order single bagels or order them by the half dozen for a discount – which is perfect for when you have a crowd to feed or are simply having trouble choosing your favorite flavor!
There are a variety of bagel flavors in regular rotation on the Tim Hortons menu. Some of them are classic flavors, while others are more unexpected.
However, not every location will carry every bagel, so check with your local store to confirm their bagel menu.
Tim Hortons offers a ton of different toppings that can be added to your bagel, including spreads, bacon, cheddar cheese, and sliced tomato.
You can customize your bagel further by requesting how much you’d like it toasted. You can order untoasted, lightly toasted, regular toasted (this is standard), or double toasted (for those of us who like our bagels extra crispy!)
Lastly, you can get your breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Choose from a bacon egg and cheese, sausage egg and cheese, egg and cheese, or a Bagel B.E.L.T. – a bagel BLT with an egg on it.

8. Plain Bagel
I’ve got nothing against a plain bagel, but I will say it’s usually my last choice when other, more interesting options are available.
However, it doesn’t get any more versatile than a plain bagel.
Want your bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese? Excellent. Strawberry cream cheese? Delightful. Peanut butter? Go for it. The plain bagel can handle any toppings you throw at it.
All Tim Hortons bagels have a chewy, dense interior and crispy crust – the hallmarks of a good bagel, and the plain flavor is no exception.
I prefer my bagels with a little extra flavor and texture added, but if you’re a purist, you won’t be disappointed with one of these.
One Plain Bagel contains 290 calories, 2g of fat, 4g of sugar, and 9g of protein. It’s also vegan!
7. Twelve Grain Bagel
The Twelve-Grain Bagel has a sweet malty flavor and a pleasant texture from the whole grains and seeds mixed into the dough.
It’s especially good with peanut butter or cream cheese.
One thing to note is that although it has more nutrients and fiber than other bagels on the Tim Hortons menu, it is one of the highest in calories and fat.
One Twelve-Grain bagel contains 325 calories, 8g of fat, 6g of sugar, and 10g of protein.
6. Cinnamon Raisin Bagel
A Cinnamon Raisin Bagel is an excellent option if you want a breakfast that’s sweet but not “double chocolate donut sweet.”
This flavor is a classic, and while it’s not everyone’s first choice, Tim Hortons makes one of the best cinnamon raisin bagels in the business.
It’s loaded with visible dark swirls of cinnamon and plump, juicy raisins. Ask for this one double toasted with butter, and thank me later!
The Cinnamon Raisin bagel isn’t as high in calories as the Twelve Grain, but it does contain quite a bit of sugar compared to other Tim Hortons bagel flavors.
One Cinnamon Raisin Bagel contains 298 calories, 2g of fat, 13g of sugar, and 9g of protein.
5. Blueberry Bagel
People who eat blueberry bagels tend to fall into one of two categories: die-hard loyalists who wouldn’t dream of ordering a different flavor, and people who tend to forget about it but are delightfully surprised when presented with one.
I’m solidly in the second group, and though it’s not my usual go-to, a blueberry bagel makes an unexpected and delicious change of pace from its savory cousins.
The Blueberry Bagel from Tim Hortons is particularly tasty.
It’s made with large pieces of blueberry that burst slightly and swirl throughout the dough.
It’s even good on its own, but it’s best with plain or strawberry cream cheese.
The biggest problem with this bagel is finding it. Not every store carries it, and those that do tend to carry a smaller stock that may sell out.
One Blueberry Bagel contains 310 calories, 3g of fat, 7g of sugar, and 9g of protein.
4. Sesame Bagel
A sesame seed bagel is about as classic as it gets (seriously, they predate pretty much every other flavor), and it’s one of my favorites no matter where I’m heading for breakfast, including Tim Hortons.
It’s neutral enough to take on pretty much any topping but has a pleasant texture and nutty flavor from the seeds that set it apart from a regular plain bagel.
Try it with sausage, egg and cheese, bacon and avocado spread, or whatever your heart desires.
The sky’s the limit with this one!
One Sesame Bagel contains 310 calories, 4g of fat, 10g of sugar, and 10g of protein.
3. Asiago Bagel/Four Cheese Bagel
Depending on your location, you may have one of several Tim Hortons cheese-flavored bagels available (or none at all – sad!)
The Four-Cheese bagel is a crowd favorite but can be somewhat elusive.
If you live close to the border with Canada, you’re more likely to find it there.
In the United States, the most commonly offered cheese bagel is the Asiago Bagel, though even that can be hard to find.
Die-hard Tim Hortons fans will wax poetic about the jalapeño cheddar bagel, which often seems to be the rarest of the three.
Regardless of which cheesy bagel you stumble across, you’re in for a treat. They’re all savory, salty, and (most importantly) cheesy.
All of the cheese bagels at Tim Hortons contain around 320-330 calories, 5g of fat, 4g of sugar, and 11g of protein.
2. Pretzel Bagel
Pretzel bagels are something of an anomaly.
They fall halfway between the texture of a bagel and a soft pretzel, making us realize that we love both baked goods for their crispy crust and chewy, slightly stretchy crumb.
The Pretzel Bagel from Tim Hortons is a delicious combination of buttery dough with a glossy, varnished-looking crust sprinkled with a generous amount of coarse salt.
It’s not quite pretzel and not quite bagel. I recommend trying it toasted, slathered in butter, or topped with a slice of cheddar cheese.
One Pretzel Bagel contains 308 calories, 3g of fat, 3g of sugar, and 10g of protein.
1. Everything Bagel
The reason why the Everything Bagel is the best Tim Hortons bagel is right in the name – it has everything.
Ok, maybe not everything (thankfully, you won’t find blueberries or raisins in it), but it is topped with all of the best savory bagel toppings like sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dehydrated garlic, and dehydrated onion.
All of those toppings add a ton of flavor to the bagel that’s only enhanced by toasting.
It can be customized with any of Tim Hortons’ spreads or toppings and is also the best bagel to use for the Bagel B.E.L.T. breakfast sandwich.
One Everything Bagel contains 300 calories, 4g of fat, 4g of sugar, and 10g of protein.
Conclusion
There are only a few on-the-go breakfasts more classic than a bagel and a cup of coffee.
Tim Hortons offers a variety of traditional and unique bagel flavors, and though they’re not all available at every location, you’ll surely find something you like.
You can customize Tim Hortons bagels with a variety of spreads and topping options. Of course, nothing beats a breakfast sandwich on a bagel when in doubt!
