The Best Hot and Cold Drinks at Tim Hortons

Tim Hortons is a quick and convenient place to grab a drink or a bite to eat. Although the chain is best known for its donuts and coffee, it also offers an extensive selection of food and drinks.

It’s true that the most popular Tim Hortons drinks are coffee based, but the Tim Hortons drink menu also includes plenty of fruity, creamy, and refreshing concoctions that are entirely coffee free.

The drinks at Tim Hortons are divided into hot and cold drinks. In this article, we’ve laid out the best Tim Hortons drinks and ranked them based on their taste and overall experience.

20. TimsBoost with Red Bull

The TimsBoosts are a little too new and polarizing to rank them higher on the list, but I had to include them here.

They’re new additions to the Tim Hortons drink menu and are made with Red Bull, and flavored syrups served over ice.

They’re definitely on the sweet side, and at around $5 each, they’re a bit expensive for what is essentially Red Bull with some flavored sugar water mixed in.

For some people, however, they’re the perfect sweet and refreshing way to get a quick energy boost in the middle of their day.

TimsBoosts are available in two flavors: Sunrise Sunset, which is made with tropical-flavored Red Bull and raspberry syrup, and Sky’s the Limit, which is made with regular Red Bull, blue raspberry syrup, and coconut syrup.

A medium Sunrise Sunset TimsBoost contains 180 calories, 0g of fat, and 43g of sugar.

A medium Sky’s the Limit TimsBoost contains 250 calories, 0g of fat, and 60g of sugar.

19. Strawberry Coconut Refresher

The Strawberry Coconut Refresher sounds like a delicious, sweet, creamy drink that’s perfect for people who want something a little tropical (or don’t drink dairy.)

Unfortunately, it falls a little short. It’s not a bad drink, but it just doesn’t quite meet my expectations.

It’s a little too creamy to be refreshing and somehow lacks both coconut and strawberry flavors while also tasting a bit too sweet.

This Tim Hortons drink is made from coconut milk and strawberry-flavored syrup and is served over ice.

A medium Strawberry Coconut Refresher contains 246 calories, 2g of fat, and 56g of sugar.

18. Vanilla Almond Iced Coffee

The Vanilla Almond Iced Coffee from Tim Hortons is a light, nondairy coffee drink that’s refreshing and energizing.

It’s creamy, easy to drink, and less heavy than an iced coffee made with dairy milk.

The drink is made from a combination of coffee, almond milk, and vanilla syrup and served over ice.

It’s slightly sweet, creamy, nutty, and roasty tasting.

17. Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate is a cozy, comforting classic, and Tim Hortons’ Hot Chocolate is no exception.

It’s creamy, chocolatey, and a little frothy, making it a great way to warm up on a chilly day.

The only downside to the Tim Hortons Hot Chocolate is that it’s not too different from what you would make at home – especially if you take home a container of Tim Hortons’ hot chocolate mix.

The drink is made from a powdered mix combined with hot water and dispensed through a machine.

Note that there is powdered milk in the mix, so it contains dairy.

A medium Hot Chocolate contains 280 calories, 3g of fat, and 225g of sugar.

16. Fruit Smoothie

The Fruit Smoothie is an often overlooked but always appreciated addition to the Tim Hortons drink menu.

While most people look for a coffee drink or donut, the Fruit Smoothie is an excellent option that’s filling enough to double as a light breakfast or midday snack.

The smoothie is made from frozen fruit puree and fruit juice blended with Greek yogurt.

Tim Hortons’ Fruit Smoothies are available in mixed berry, strawberry-banana, and orange-tangerine flavors, though not all flavors will be available at all locations.

All of them are fruity, creamy, and refreshing.

A medium Fruit Smoothie contains 267 calories, 1g of fat, 57g of sugar, and 4g of protein.

15. Cappuccino

Cappuccino is one of the few Tim Hortons drinks made with real espresso and milk.

In fact, unless you choose to add sweetener, those are the only two ingredients in the drink!

It’s made from a freshly pulled shot of espresso combined with frothed, steamed milk.

Cappuccinos are also one of the least sweet and lowest-calorie drinks at Tim Hortons.

A medium Cappuccino contains 11g of sugar, 5g of fat, and just 122 calories.

14. Caramel Latte

Like the Cappuccino, the Caramel Latte is made with fresh espresso and milk, which is why it’s one of the best Tim Hortons drinks.

It’s a velvety classic with just a touch of sweetness and is particularly tasty on a gloomy afternoon.

Tim Hortons serves both hot and iced Caramel Lattes.

They’re made from 2% milk (either cold or steamed), freshly brewed espresso, and caramel-flavored syrup.

A medium hot Caramel Latte contains 232 calories, 7g of fat, and 30g of sugar.

13. Half & Half Lemonade Iced Tea

The Half & Half Lemonade Iced Tea is one of the most refreshing Tim Hortons drinks.

It lies at the perfect intersection of sweet, tart, caffeinated, and thirst-quenching.

It’s a simple combination of brewed orange pekoe black tea and lemonade served over ice.

The Half & Half is also one of the healthiest drinks on the Tim Hortons menu.

A medium contains just 87 calories, 0g of fat, and 21g of sugar.

While Tim Hortons’ Lemonade is made with real lemon, note that it also contains artificial flavors.

12. Iced Capp

The Iced Capp is the first drink that comes to mind for many people when talking about Tim Hortons.

It’s their signature creamy blended frozen coffee drink, and it’s very popular.

The classic Iced Capp has a sweet coffee with milk flavor, but you’ll find flavored varieties on the menu, like mocha or caramel.

The Iced Capp is made from a pre-made mix that’s a combination of coffee-flavored extract, sugar, water, and flavoring.

This base is then mixed up in a slush machine and blended with cream.

Flavored Iced Capps are made by blending a shot of flavored syrup with the cream before adding the Iced Capp base.

They’re not the healthiest drinks on the menu, starting at around 296 calories for a medium.

If you want to lower the calories in your drink, consider ordering an Iced Capp Light, which is made with 2% milk and contains 165 calories in a medium size.

11. Iced Mocha Latte

If you’re interested in a cold, creamy, sweet coffee drink but don’t like the idea of a premixed Iced Capp, the Iced Mocha Latte is a fantastic option.

It’s made from 2% milk, freshly brewed espresso, and chocolate syrup and is served over ice.

It’s topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup to make it extra-indulgent.

It’s also slightly healthier than an Iced Capp, with 227 calories, 6g of fat, and 31g of sugar in a medium size.

10. Peppermint Hot Chocolate (Seasonal)

The Peppermint Hot Chocolate is one of the best seasonal drinks at Tim Hortons.

The creamy, festive beverage is a surefire way to get in the holiday spirit and fight the winter blues.

The Peppermint Hot Chocolate is made from Tim Hortons’ classic hot chocolate with peppermint-flavored syrup mixed into it.

It’s topped with whipped topping and crunchy pieces of peppermint.

Because the hot chocolate is made from a powdered mix that contains dairy, this drink cannot be made dairy free.

9. Oreo Iced Capp

The Oreo Iced Capp is certainly not the healthiest Tim Hortons drink, but it’s one of the most delicious.

It tastes like the perfect combination of an iced coffee and a cookies and cream milkshake.

This drink is made with Tim Hortons’ Iced Capp base blended with cream, Oreo cookie crumbles, and cookies and cream-flavored syrup.

It is then topped with whipped topping and more Oreo crumbles.

A medium Oreo Iced Capp contains a whopping 500 calories, 22g of fat, and 160g of sugar.

So this is definitely more of a dessert than just a coffee drink, but it’s a delicious, chocolatey, and refreshing treat.

8. Coffee Mocha

Although the name is somewhat confusing, Tim Hortons’ Coffee Mocha isn’t a mocha latte but is made with coffee and chocolate.

This drink is made by combining half hot chocolate and half brewed coffee.

It’s rich, warming, and definitely more exciting than adding plain milk or cream to your coffee.

It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a mocha-flavored drink made with drip coffee instead of espresso, and it’s especially popular with people who find a full cup of hot chocolate too sweet for their taste.

7. Iced Caramel Macchiato

The Iced Caramel Macchiato from Tim Hortons is creamy, sweet, and complex.

It’s a beautiful iced coffee drink made from freshly brewed espresso, milk, vanilla-flavored syrup, and caramel drizzle layered over ice.

It’s similar to an iced latte, but the ingredients aren’t mixed together in the same way. It’s also not as sweet as an Iced Capp

A medium Iced Caramel Macchiato contains 220 calories, 5g of fat, and 33g of sugar.

6. Frozen Hot Chocolate

Tim Hortons’ Frozen Hot Chocolate is more dessert than a drink, but that’s why I like it.

It’s made from a frozen mix of sweetener, hot chocolate powder, and milk.

However, Frozen Hot Chocolates aren’t as creamy as a chocolate milkshake.

Instead, they have more of a creamy chocolate slushy texture, making them intensely chocolatey and pretty sweet.

They’re very sugary, with 199g in one medium Frozen Hot Chocolate. They also contain 473 calories and 23g of fat.

5. French Vanilla

The French Vanilla is one of the classic drinks that Tim Hortons is known for, though many of its fans aren’t really sure what it is.

It’s made from a powder combined with hot water, just like their Hot Chocolate, and although there is a small amount of instant coffee in the powder, it’s not really a latte or even a coffee drink.

The French Vanilla is more like a vanilla-flavored version of hot chocolate.

It’s smooth and creamy but not the healthiest drink option.

A medium French Vanilla contains 310 calories, 10g of fat, and 263g of sugar.

4. Tim Hortons Original Blend

There are few things better than Tim Hortons Original Blend coffee.

It’s made from 100% Arabica beans and brewed fresh, making it bold, smooth, and very drinkable.

The coffee can be customized to your liking with milk, sweetener, or flavored syrup.

One of the most popular ways to order an Original Blend coffee at Tim Hortons is a “double-double,” which is made with two creams and two sugars.

3. Vanilla Latte

The Vanilla Latte from Tim Hortons is a cozy, comforting drink.

It’s made from steamed 2% milk combined with freshly brewed espresso and vanilla-flavored syrup.

It’s dreamy and indulgent without being too sugary.

One medium Vanilla Latte contains 224 calories, including 6g of fat and 145g of sugar.

You can decrease the calories of the drink by substituting a different type of milk or requesting less syrup.

Of course, you can always request to add additional syrup if the drink doesn’t taste sweet enough to you!

2. Strawberry Frozen Lemonade

The Strawberry Frozen Lemonade is one of the most delicious, refreshing things on the Tim Hortons drink menu.

It’s a frosty concoction that’s the perfect thirst-quenching balance of sweet and tart.

This drink is made from a frozen lemonade base that contains both natural and artificial flavors.

It’s then blended with strawberry puree and served in a slushy-like consistency.

The Strawberry Frozen Lemonade isn’t too sweet and contains 190 calories, 0g of fat, and 43g of sugar.

1. White Hot Chocolate

The White Hot Chocolate is the best Tim Hortons drink! It’s a creamy, dreamy treat that’s sweet and warming.

Just like their regular hot chocolate, the White Hot Chocolate is made by combining a powdered mix and hot water in a machine that dispenses the drink.

This drink is particularly good with a shot of espresso or a chai tea bag steeped in it.

The White Hot Chocolate from Tim Hortons tastes like a cup of wintery holiday cheer!

Conclusion

The Tim Hortons drink menu is full of delicious ways to start your day, refreshing afternoon pick-me-ups, and sweet, dessert-like treats.

Tim Hortons offers dozens of iced or hot drinks to suit all different tastes, and you can never go wrong with one of their signature creations.
