Meijer Delivery: How It Works and How to Order From Meijer Online

Meijer is a popular grocery store in the Midwest that focuses on its customers by meeting their needs and exceeding their expectations. Although Meijer is committed to creating a safe in-store shopping experience, many customers are now opting for their delivery service to have groceries brought to their doorstep.

You can order Meijer delivery through the Meijer website or the app. Meijer’s delivery fee is $9.95, but they often run promos. In addition, Meijer’s online prices are the same as in-store. While you cannot use paper coupons for Meijer delivery, mPerks digital coupons can be used. Meijer does not accept EBT for delivery, and tips are encouraged.

How Does Meijer Delivery Work?

Meijer delivery can be ordered online through the Meijer website or the app. However, Meijer only offers local delivery, so if you do not live near a Meijer store, you will not qualify for delivery. After ordering, a personal shopper will fulfill your order, and a delivery driver will bring it to your door.

For just $9.95 per order or less, you can have fresh groceries delivered right to your door from Meijer.

Meijer has discounts on delivery fees often and sometimes may offer free delivery.

Just make sure you have selected delivery as your shopping method before checking out.

Once you are online and select delivery as your shopping method, you can browse items and add what you wish to your cart.

Note that certain items such as tobacco, fireworks, propane tanks, lottery tickets, prescriptions, cell phones, prepaid minute cards, hunting, and ammunition are not eligible for online purchase at Meijer.

You can, however, purchase alcohol for Meijer delivery in select locations with proof of a valid ID.

Meijer makes the online shopping experience even easier by giving you access to your previous order history.

Simply sign in to your account by clicking on the person icon in the upper right-hand corner and selecting “order history” from the menu.

There you can see all your previous orders and order details. That makes it easy to reorder your usual weekly groceries and takes the guesswork out of trying to remember that new item you tried.

Once you place your order, your shopper will gather your items and bag them up for delivery.

If you receive your order and are missing an item or are unhappy with an item, you can call Meijer Customer Service at 1-877-363-4537.

If you need to return an item for any reason, make sure the item meets Meijer’s return policy and visit your local store to make the return.

Meijer also allows you to cancel your delivery order if you decide you no longer need the items or need to change your delivery address after ordering.

To cancel an order, simply click on the person icon in the upper right-hand corner, select “order history,” then click “cancel.”  

If you just wanted to cancel the order, then you are done. If you need to change your delivery address, simply enter the new delivery address and reorder.

Keep in mind, though, that you may not be able to cancel if your order is already out for delivery.

Therefore, if you need to cancel your order, it is best to do so as quickly as possible after placing the order.

How to Order From Meijer Online

To order from Meijer online for delivery, you can shop on the website or the Meijer app. Simply select delivery as your shopping method, select a location, and your desired delivery time. Lastly, enter your payment information and submit your order.

Here is a step-by-step guide to ordering Meijer online using the Meijer app:

1. Log into your account or create an account if it is your first time shopping with Meijer.

2. Select delivery as your shopping method and enter the delivery address.

3. Shop for your groceries by searching for specific items or browsing the different categories.

4. Go to your cart by clicking on the shopping cart icon in the top right-hand corner and review your order. Make sure you have everything you need and have used any mPerks digital coupons that you may have. If you do not have a mPerks account, you can sign up at Meijer.com/mperks.

5. Enter your contact information and check the box below.

6. Enter your valid credit card and billing information. All major US credit and debit cards are accepted. Unfortunately, Meijer does not accept gift cards, EBT, WIC, or a Cash App at this time.

7. Review your order one last time, then click “place order” at the bottom of the screen.

How Much Does Meijer Delivery Cost?

For Meijer home deliveries, you can expect a delivery fee of $9.95 per order plus any tip for the driver. However, Meijer often runs specials to reduce delivery fees and sometimes offers free delivery. A 15%-20% tip is recommended for Meijer delivery drivers.

You might be concerned that you are missing out on in-store sales and promotions by shopping online. However, with Meijer, you do not need to worry about that.

There is no markup when shopping online at Meijer, which means you can take advantage of the same sales and promotions as in-store.

For example, Meijer offers popular deals like 10 items for $10, and save $5 when you buy 5 deals online for delivery.

You should also be aware that you will see an estimated subtotal when you order online, which could be slightly different from the final total you pay.

The price change could be a result of weighted items such as produce, meat, etc., sale price and discounts, substitutions, taxes, and fees.

Can You Use Coupons With Meijer Delivery?

Although you cannot use paper coupons when shopping online at Meijer, you can use mPerks digital coupons. If you do not already have a mPerks account, you can sign up on Meijer’s website. In-store sales and promotions will also be available online for Meijer delivery orders.

Meijer’s mPerks program allows you to save more on your weekly shopping.

You will have access to exclusive rewards, digital coupons, personalized offers, and more.

When shopping in-store, simply enter your mPerks phone number and PIN to earn rewards and apply digital coupons.

When shopping online, clip and apply mPerks digital coupons for additional savings.

There is even a Meijer credit card that gives you access to special mPerks offers every time you use it.

If you forget to enter your mPerks phone number at checkout, you can enter your paper receipt information to get credit for your purchase.

Meijer Home Delivery vs. Shipt: What’s The Difference?

Shipt is a third-party delivery service that partnered with Meijer in 2016. When you shop for Meijer delivery through Shipt, the process is similar except for the prices. You will pay a higher price for your groceries when you shop through Shipt rather than directly through Meijer’s website or the app.

When you go to Shipt’s website, you will be prompted to enter your zip code. Then, you will be shown a list of stores like Meijer that are partnered with Shipt.

The shopping process is similar on Shipt to the Meijer website or mobile app, except you will see higher prices on Shipt.

Same-day delivery is available on Shipt, as well as on Meijer’s website and mobile app.

While Shipt still fulfills some of Meijer’s delivery orders, most customers choose to shop directly through Meijer to take advantage of in-store sales and promotions.

Does Instacart Deliver From Meijer?

Meijer is partnered with Instacart, which means Meijer customers now have another way to get their groceries delivered. The shopping process is similar to Meijer’s website or mobile app, except you will pay a higher price when shopping through Instacart.

If you want to shop Meijer through Instacart, go to Instacart’s website and enter your zip code or search for Meijer in the search bar at the top of the screen.

If you do not already have one, you will need to create an account. Then, you can browse items, schedule your delivery, and get your groceries from the safety and comfort of your own home.

Keep in mind that you will pay a higher price for your groceries when shopping through third-party vendors like Instacart.

However, Instacart does offer a membership option called Instacart Express.

For a flat annual cost of $99 or a low monthly cost of $9.99, you can have access to unlimited free deliveries on all orders of $35 or more.

As an Instacart Express member, you can expect to save $7 per order on average.

If you are interested in signing up for Instacart Express, visit their website, click on the three horizontal lines on the left-hand side of the page, and click “Try Instacart Express.”

Can You Order Meijer Deliveries on DoorDash?

Meijer is partnered with DoorDash, which means you can order Meijer groceries for delivery on DoorDash. The shopping process is similar on DoorDash as on the Meijer website or mobile app, except prices are higher.

Note that you will need to create a DoorDash account if you do not already have one.

Then, log into your account, search for Meijer, browse their items, and place your order.

Although prices are higher when shopping through third-party vendors like DoorDash, DoorDash offers a membership called DashPass.

A DashPass membership is $96 per year or $9.99 per month and gives you access to $0 delivery fees, 5% credit back on pickup orders, and more.

Can You Use EBT for Meijer Delivery?

Unfortunately, Meijer does not accept EBT for delivery. In addition, Meijer also does not accept WIC, gift cards, or Cash App for delivery orders.

Meijer accepts all major US credit and debit cards for delivery orders, such as MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.

Note American Express customers will need the three numbers on the back of the card, not the four-digit number on the front of the card.

You should also be aware that Meijer does not accept mobile payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay for online orders.

Do You Tip Meijer Delivery?

Tips are encouraged for Meijer Delivery, and a 15-20% tip is recommended, which is the standard in the service industry. Meijer delivery drivers keep 100% of the tip, which is separate from the $7.95 delivery fee added to each order.

If you are shopping directly through Meijer on their website or mobile app, there is no option to add a tip at checkout, but you will be sent an email to rate and tip your shopper after your delivery is complete.

You can use this email to tip your delivery driver or log in to your Meijer account, go to order history, click on the order, and the option to add a tip will be displayed.  

If you shop through a third-party vendor like DoorDash or Instacart, you will be able to tip your driver through their app.

Conclusion

Meijer delivery allows you to shop for groceries from the comfort of your home. You can choose your delivery time and even request same-day delivery. Meijer delivery is also affordable and allows you to take advantage of in-store sales and promotions when you order through the Meijer website or the app.
