How Does Fred Meyer Pickup Work?

Their shopping associates will pick out the items for your order and can substitute certain items if they are not available. Your order will be ready on the day and time you select during checkout.

You can use Fred Meyer Pickup either through their app or the website. Before you begin your order, you’ll need to choose pickup as your preferred shopping method and select which store you would like to pick up your order from.

To create your order, search for the items you need throughout the website and the app and add the items using “Start My Cart.”

When creating your pickup order, you can leave special instructions for the associates choosing your items, like “small red delicious apples only,” and you can add more than one of the same items.

During checkout, you can select the day and time you want to pick up your order, and you can see the store’s availability up to 7 days in advance.

When selecting your specified date and time, you will also view Fred Meyer Pickup hours. You will have a one-hour window to pick up your groceries.

Fred Meyer Pickup hours are typically 7 am to 9 pm, as some hours may vary depending on the location.

Then, once you are ready to pick up the order, let the store know when you are 15 minutes away from the store so they can begin preparing your items before your arrival.

Once you arrive, simply pull into one of the marked parking spaces and follow the instructions on the sign. The associates will then bring out your order directly to your vehicle!

How to Order Fred Meyer Online

You can order Fred Meyer Pickup through their app or the website. You must have an account with Fred Meyer before you begin your order, and you can include special instructions for the store preparing your order. The app and website will also allow you to schedule your pickup ahead of time.

Below is a step-by-step guide for ordering through the Fred Meyer app.

1. First, create your account on the Fred Meyer app. Once you set up your account with your information, you will navigate through the app to start your order.

2. To start adding items to your cart, tap “Shop” next to the cart and search through the grocery categories.

3. Once you choose your category, make sure you select the store you would like to pick up from at the bottom of the app.

5. When you find your item, click to get details and add it to your cart with the button at the bottom of the app. Then, continue the same steps until you are finished with your order.

6. If you would like to include any special instructions for one of the items, scroll down on the item details and then tap on the bottom box to add your notes and comments.

7. If you want to save an item for when you go to the store, rather than picking it up, you can add the item to a list to access later. To add an item to your list, click on “Add to List” on your “Item Details.”

8. When you are ready to checkout, go to the cart at the bottom of the app. This will bring you to your cart, where you can review it and see your Estimated Subtotal. Once you review your order, click on the “Check Out Pickup” button.

9. Then, schedule the day and time of your pickup. You’ll be able to see the available days and times during Fred Meyer Pickup hours of that store.

10. After you schedule your pickup, you will be prompted to add your contact information. You can also indicate if you want text updates for your order. When you’re ready, click “Continue” on the bottom.

11. Once your pickup order is created, you will be prompted to add your payment information under “Paying With.” After you have added your payment information, you can click on “Place Pickup Order” at the bottom of the app.

There is also an option to prepare your Fred Meyer Pickup order on their website. The user experience of ordering on the website is almost the same as ordering on the app.

However, you would be searching for items through the site’s menu on the left-hand side and the search bar on the top of the site. Your cart will also appear on the right-hand side of the website.

How Much Does Fred Meyer Pickup Cost?

The online prices on Fred Meyer Pickup are the same as in-store prices on the day you place your order. Fred Meyer pickup is also free for all orders over $35. However, if the order is below $35, the Fred Meyer Pickup fee is $4.95. Other restrictions may also apply.

When placing an order online, the estimated online prices are typically the same as the in-store prices on the day of your order.

However, the prices may still change between the time you place your order and when you pick it up. By the time of pickup, the exact price of each item on your order will be on your receipt.

After you place your order, your bank will place an authorization hold on your card to confirm that it is valid.

This hold is an estimated total that you will see on your original order confirmation. The hold may be released in 3 to 7 business days, depending on the bank you use.

On orders that are $35 or more, Fred Meyer does not charge a pickup fee. However, for orders that are below $35, there is a $4.95 fee.

Can You Use Coupons with Fred Meyer Pickup?

Fred Meyer Pickup allows you to add digital coupons to your shopper’s card, which are applied to your order automatically at the time of your pickup. You can also use paper coupons, but these must be applied in person and can only be used at certain store locations.

With Fred Meyer Pickup, you can use digital coupons for your order, which can be added to your Shopper’s Card. These digital coupons are automatically added to your order at the time of your pickup.

You can add coupons under the “Savings” section of your Fred Meyer app. There are also ways to earn Cash Back on various grocery items, which will also be added to your Shopper’s Card.

You can even use paper coupons for your Fred Meyer pickup order. However, paper coupons must be applied in person as you are picking up your order.

Can You Use EBT for Fred Meyer Pickup?

Fred Meyer does accept SNAP EBT at all Fred Meyer locations that offer pickup. However, WIC is not accepted at any of the locations for pickup at this time. Other payment methods include credit or debit cards; however, cash, checks, or gift cards are not accepted for Fred Meyer pickup orders.

Fred Meyer does allow you to pay with SNAP EBT cards at all their stores, including pickup locations.

To use an EBT card for your pickup order, choose “SNAP EBT at Pickup” when you get to the Payment Option when placing your order.

Then, once you arrive at the pickup location during your specified time, you will swipe your EBT card to finish your order.

Unfortunately, while SNAP EBT cards are accepted for pickup at all Fred Meyer locations, WIC is not accepted at this time.

Other payment methods that are accepted by Fred Meyer Pickup include credit and debit cards. However, cash, check, or gift cards are not accepted.

Do You Tip Fred Meyer Pickup?

Fred Meyer Pickup does not accept tips. While they view tipping as a great gesture, they do not allow tips because the shopping associate shopping for your order may be different from the employee bringing your order to your car.

While tipping is appreciated, Fred Meyer Pickup discourages tipping, and employees cannot accept tips whatsoever.

This is because the associate choosing items for your order may be different from the employee bringing the order to your vehicle, which may create an unfair advantage.

Tipping is also discouraged in Fred Meyer’s delivery service; however, you can tip drivers from third-party apps like Instacart.

How to Cancel a Fred Meyer Pickup Order

To cancel a pending order on Fred Meyer Pickup, you have to sign in and go to “Pending Orders” on the app, select your order, and then click on “Cancel.” If there are any substituted items you did not want to receive, you can refuse the substitution or return them for a refund later.

If you would like to cancel a pending order, all you need to do is sign in and go to “Pending Orders” on the app or website. Then, select which order you would like to cancel and click on “cancel.”

However, you cannot modify your pickup location and time after you place your order, nor change a pending order that was for same-day pickup.

If you want to modify a pending order for same-day pickup, you will have to cancel the original order on the app and create a new one; however, you may lose your reserved time slot.

Also, if one of your substituted items is not to your satisfaction, you can refuse the item at the time of pickup or return it to the store after bringing your order home.
