Wendy’s Chicken Sandwiches, Ranked

By Lana Kisner | December 10, 2023

When it comes to fast-food chicken sandwiches, it can be a hit or miss but Wendy’s chicken sandwiches don’t disappoint. With a classic, crispy, or spicy chicken fillet, some of their sandwiches are simple with minimal toppings, while others come stacked high with a burst of flavors. Here are all the chicken sandwiches on the Wendy’s menu ranked from worst to best. If you want to take a break from their hamburgers, these may be right up your alley.

8. Classic Chicken Sandwich

This is Wendy’s simplest chicken sandwich, but it’s a classic menu item nonetheless. Remember the old days when they had the homestyle chicken sandwich? This recipe adds pickles to it and uses a larger chicken patty. It comes with classic chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayonnaise, and everything is served on their premium sandwich bun.

7. Crispy Chicken Sandwich

There’s nothing too special about this sandwich, but I like Wendy’s crispy chicken patty, which this sandwich comes with. It also includes lettuce and mayonnaise, and that’s about it. It works best as a quick snack, but if you want more with your sandwich, you can dress it up with applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, and sweet onions.

6. Spicy Chicken Sandwich

As the name implies, this sandwich comes with a spicy chicken breast fillet. It’s not overwhelmingly spicy but gives you a little bit of kick with each bite. It also includes lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a premium bun. There are not many ingredients in this sandwich, but it bursts with flavor. I highly recommend adding applewood smoked bacon to take it to the next level.

5. Ghost Pepper Ranch Chicken Sandwich

This is one of the newer and interesting chicken sandwiches on the Wendy’s menu. If you love spicy food, this may be right up your alley. It starts with a spicy chicken breast topped with ghost pepper American cheese and ghost pepper crispy onions. These are layered with lettuce and tomato for freshness, and everything is served on a premium bun.

But there’s one more ingredient on top that gives the sandwich its name – the ghost pepper ranch sauce. You can never have enough ghost pepper, right? This sandwich definitely calls for bacon, so I’d recommend adding it extra. Also, crinkle-cut pickles would bring some tanginess to cut through all those spicy flavors.

4. Spicy Asiago Ranch Club

This is my favorite spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy’s. It has the perfect amount of heat, which is cooled down by the ranch sauce. It starts with spicy chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, and a slice of asiago cheese. Lettuce and tomato are added on top, and everything is drizzled with ranch sauce before being served on a premium bun.

3. Loaded Nacho Chicken

This is the most unique chicken sandwich from Wendy’s. For starters, it comes with a jalapeno cheddar bun. Inside, you’ll find delicious Mexican flavors layered on the classic chicken breast. Poblano queso, spicy tortilla strips, and spicy chipotle sauce definitely take this sandwich to new heights. Also included are lettuce, tomato, and American cheese. If you love Mexican-inspired fast-food sandwiches, this is a must-try menu item.

2. Crispy Chicken BLT

I love a classic chicken BLT sandwich, and Wendy’s version doesn’t disappoint. As I mentioned before, I love Wendy’s crispy chicken patty, and this sandwich takes it to the next level with the added applewood smoked bacon. Of course, there are also lettuce, tomato, and American cheese with mayo on top that ties everything nicely. It’s a simple sandwich, but it’s a classic and perfect size to be a light meal or a snack.

1. Asiago Ranch Classic Chicken Club

The Asiago Ranch Classic Chicken Club is my favorite Wendy’s chicken sandwich of all time. You can’t go wrong with a classic chicken club sandwich, and this one certainly delivers. It combines juicy chicken breast with applewood smoked bacon and asiago cheese for a burst of flavors. These are stacked high with lettuce and tomato for freshness, and the creamy ranch sauce on top brings everything together.
