Burger King’s Chicken Fries have been a fan favorite since they were introduced to the menu, and for good reason. They are french fry-shaped pieces of white meat chicken coated in crispy, seasoned breading. What’s not to love, right?

I usually order them as an alternative to chicken nuggets because they are more fun to eat and come with a delicious, seasoned flavor. But before you make that switch, there are some things you should know about Chicken Fries. Read on to find out what they are.

1. BK Chicken Fries Can Be Ordered With 4, 8, or 12 Pieces

Burger King serves Chicken Fries in three different sizes, so you can choose how many pieces to order depending on your hunger level. They used to come only with 9 pieces, which was a bit limiting, so I like that you can get them in different sizes now.

2. You Can Order Chicken Fries as a Side Item or a Meal

While Chicken Fries are one of the popular side items at Burger King, you can also order them as an entree in a meal. Meals come in small, medium, or large sizes and include classic fries and a drink.

3. Each Chicken Fries Order Comes With Your Choice of Dipping Sauce

Whether you order them individually or as a meal, Burger King serves Chicken Fries with a dipping sauce of your choice. BK offers six dipping sauces, including BBQ, Buffalo, Honey Mustard, Ranch, Sweet & Sour, and Zesty.

4. There Are 220 Calories in 8 Pc. Chicken Fries

Compared to other side items on the Burger King menu, like classic fries or Have-sies, Chicken Fries actually have fewer calories. An 8-pc. order comes with 220 calories, while the 12-pc. has 340. Of course, these are the calories for Chicken Fries only, so if you choose to get a meal, you need to add the calories for your drink and side.

5. Chicken Fries Are the Most Expensive Item on the Burger King Sides Menu

Just like any item on the Burger King menu, the price of Chicken Fries varies by location. Here is a quick overview of prices in my area to get you started:

  • 4 Pc. Chicken Fries: $2.49
  • 8 Pc. Chicken Fries: $4.89
  • 12 Pc. Chicken Fries: $7.39

As a comparison, medium-sized Classic Fries and Onion Rings both cost $3.69 in my location. This makes Chicken Fries the most expensive Sides menu item, even higher than 8 pc. Chicken Nuggets sold for $2.99.

6. Chicken Fries Are on the Lunch Menu, but You May Order Them for Breakfast

Chicken Fries are officially on the Burger King lunch menu, which is served from 10:30 a.m. until closing every day. But if you have a little bit of luck, you may be able to order them during breakfast hours at some locations.

Since BK restaurants are franchise-owned, each location gets to make its own decisions regarding its hours and, to some extent, what they serve. While most restaurants don’t prefer to serve lunch items during breakfast due to space constraints, some are more flexible.

So craving Chicken Fries in the morning? Just ask the restaurant if they can accommodate your request. I’ve had luck with this in the past but be prepared to wait a little longer for your order to be ready, and respectfully understand if they say no.

7. Its Texture and Flavor Are What Make Chicken Fries So Good

I love Burger King’s Chicken Fries mainly for its texture and flavor. They are breaded and seasoned, which adds a bit of spice and many flavors. With a long shape that’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, what I love most about fries is basically transformed into chicken form.

They are also super easy and fun to eat. There’s a certain kind of pleasure that comes from holding Chicken Fries and dipping them into your favorite sauce!
