Review: Dunkin’ Summer 2024 Menu Items

Dunkin’ Summer 2024 Menu Items – Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

Dunkin’ released its summer 2024 menu on May 1, which includes a series of drinks, donuts, and snacks. From a watermelon-flavored donut to a breakfast wrap to donut-flavored coffee, there was a lot to try. Naturally, I had to order all of these new menu items and give them a proper taste test. If you’re wondering which are worth a grab, here’s my review.

Taste Test

1. Chocolate Chunk Cookie – $2.99

Don’t let the name fool you – this Chocolate Chunk Cookie is much more than your average chocolate chip cookie. It’s made with double the amount of chocolate chunks you’d usually find in a cookie, along with mini pretzel balls. These add some crunch while also incorporating some saltiness.

This cookie is crispy around the edges but soft and chewy towards the center. If I hadn’t been the one to take it out of its packaging, I would’ve believed it was freshly baked!

2. Green Goddess Wrap – $5.09

Just because I’m getting fast food doesn’t mean I don’t want to be a “little” bit healthy. Dunkin’s new Green Goddess Wrap is packed with ingredients like egg whites, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, feta, farro, and green goddess dressing. All of these are wrapped in lavash bread.

This might honestly be my new go-to breakfast item at Dunkin’. It’s very filling without being heavy. The egg whites and farro are fluffy and soft, and the tomato and spinach bring some freshness to this wrap.

3. Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee – $3.29

The mixture of coffee and fruit flavors can easily veer into disaster territory, but for some reason, the combination of blueberry and coffee just works. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Dunkin’s new Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee.

A small, iced version is made with two pumps of donut swirl syrup, two pumps of blueberry, and two creams. The result is a dreamy mix of flavors that tastes like a freshly baked donut but with a kick of caffeine.

4. Lemonade – $3.39

Dunkin’ had lemonade on its drink menu in the past, but only as a seasonal option. Now, just in time for summer, lemonade’s here to stay.

This lemonade was pretty good – nothing to write home about, but pretty refreshing, with a good balance between sweet and sour. It didn’t taste quite as freshly squeezed as Chick-fil-A’s new lemonades, but I can see this being a popular pick for non-coffee drinkers.

5. Watermelon Burst Donut – $1.59

This was Dunkin’s new summer menu item I was most wary of. The Watermelon Burst Donut features a yeast shell, watermelon filling, and red granulated sugar. Watermelon isn’t one of those fruits I associate with baked goods, so I ordered this, thinking I’d have a bite and then be done.

I was pleasantly surprised that I actually enjoyed this donut and ate much more than only one bite. The watermelon jelly inside tastes like watermelon candy but a bit more natural and less sugary. It pairs nicely with the yeast shell, which wasn’t overly sweet either. The red sugar on the outside of the donut added some nice crunch, but I don’t think it was really needed.

6. Kiwi Watermelon Refresher – $3.39

The newest Refresher Dunkin’ offers is their Kiwi Watermelon flavor. This bright green drink is made with green tea (or lemonade) and kiwi watermelon flavoring.

This tasted like a Jolly Rancher but slightly less sweet. It was pretty refreshing, and I was impressed that I could taste both the kiwi and strawberry equally.

7. Vanilla Frosted Donut Signature Latte – $4.69

With almost any Dunkin’ seasonal release, there’s a signature latte with all the bells and whistles. This time around, it’s the Vanilla Frosted Donut Signature Latte. The small size is made with whole milk, espresso, two pumps of vanilla, two pumps of donut swirl, whipped cream, a caramel drizzle, and rainbow sprinkles.

It sounds like a lot, and it is, but this drink is undeniably fun. It was a little too sweet for me, but for those who like their coffee without a lot of “coffee” flavor, this new signature latte will be a hit – it does taste like a vanilla donut!

Grab or Pass?

Besides the new lemonade, I’d grab all the items on Dunkin’s new summer menu again. The lemonade wasn’t bad, but it just didn’t thrill me, whereas the rest of the menu items were exciting and different.

If you can only try one drink, make it the Blueberry Iced Coffee. If you only want to get one food item, make it the Green Goddess Wrap. I don’t know exactly how long these treats will be on Dunkin’s menu, so grab them while you can!
