Wegmans Grocery Store – Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

As an avid Wegmans shopper, I’m always on the hunt for their newest products. But there are a few of their items that I simply can’t get enough of, no matter how many times I buy them.

Here’s my list of the best Wegmans products of all time. I’ll take you through ten food categories and give you a rundown of my top choices from each category. Trust me, you need to leave Wegmans with at least a handful of these products on your next grocery run!

1. Best Appetizer: Hummus & Veggie Puffs

One of the best Wegmans products of all time, and my personal favorite of their frozen appetizers, is the Hummus & Veggie Puffs. These hors d’oeuvres are comprised of a flaky phyllo dough that’s folded into bite-sized squares and filled with hummus, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, onions, and artichoke.

The hummus acts as a binder of the various veggies but also provides some nutty chickpea and tahini flavor. The phyllo dough used in these puffs is delicate and flaky, lending a satisfying crunch to each bite. The mix of onion, artichoke, tomato, and hummus brings a Mediterranean feel to this appetizer.

Wegmans’ Hummus & Veggie Puffs are vegan, so these are perfect for serving at a get-together where there might be people who don’t eat meat or animal products. These are ready in about 20 minutes, so you won’t have to wait long to get these from the freezer to a platter.

2. Best Frozen Meal: Chicken Shawarma Grain Bowl

Wegmans has dozens of frozen foods, especially in the appetizer and entree categories. One of the newest additions to their frozen meal lineup is the grain bowls. These are definitely some of the best things to buy at Wegmans. They’re convenient, healthy, and fairly cheap.

In my opinion, the best frozen meal at Wegmans is their Chicken Shawarma Grain Bowl. It comes with a whopping 19 grams of protein, it’s gluten-free, and it clocks in at only 430 calories. Health benefits aside, this bowl is packed with flavor.

The dish includes rice, green lentils, spiced chicken breast, chickpeas, cauliflower, and pickled cabbage. The chicken is seasoned with the spices you’d expect from Middle Eastern shawarma, plus some extras: cardamom, nutmeg, pepper, turmeric, mint, parsley, and more. I particularly like the pickled red cabbage, which brings a vinegary zing to the dish.

Heat your Chicken Shawarma bowl up for 5 minutes, and it’s ready to go. It doesn’t get any easier than this!

3. Best Snack: White Cheddar Baked Cheese Crunchies

There’s no shortage of Wegmans brand chips, pretzels, and puffs in their snack aisle. One of the best products you can find in this category is their White Cheddar Baked Cheese Crunchies.

This snack is essentially Wegmans’ take on Cheetos, except they’re a lot more natural, and in my opinion, they taste even better. These cheese puffs are made with cornmeal and real cheddar cheese. Unlike Cheetos, Wegmans’ cheese crunchies taste like actual cheese.

They have a sharp, nutty flavor and some serious crunch. If you’re craving a snack with a super crispy texture and regular chips don’t do it for you, I recommend trying these white cheddar puffs.

4. Best Frozen Pizza: Wood-Fired Crust Margherita Pizza

I enjoy a whimsical pizza flavor now and then, but overall, Margherita reigns supreme in my eyes. That’s also the case when it comes to Wegmans’ pizza because their best is by far the Wood-Fired Crust Margherita Pizza.

If I was handed a piece of this pizza, I don’t think I’d ever know that it had been frozen at some point. The crust is crispier and fresher tasting than any other frozen pizza I’ve ever tried.

The flavors here are simple, which allows their quality to shine. The main ingredients are tomato puree, mozzarella cheese, basil leaves, and wheat flour. There’s also oregano and extra virgin olive oil, which bolster those ingredients and bring the pizza that fresh, classic Italian feel.

I love carry-out pizza as much as the next person, but I’d pick this Wegmans product over takeout any day.

5. Best Pasta Sauce: Parmesan Romano

Another thing worth buying at Wegmans is pasta sauce – their Parmesan Romano sauce, in particular. This sauce is similar to a classic marinara but with the umami, cheesy dial turned all the way up.

The ingredients here mainly consist of tomatoes, pecorino romano cheese, parmesan, olive oil, garlic, onion, basil, and cilantro. The cheeses bring a bit of creaminess to the sauce while still allowing the zesty tomato flavor to shine.

They also add some extra savory flavor and nuttiness, which changes it from your average marinara sauce into something with more depth and personality. I pick up one of these jarred pasta sauces every time I go to Wegmans.

6. Best Ice Cream: Sea Salt Caramel Peanut Butter

I’ll admit I struggled to choose the best of the best for this category. Wegmans has an array of unique ice cream flavors, and there are so many I love. But at the end of the day, I truly believe Sea Salt Caramel Peanut Butter is the best Wegmans ice cream flavor of all time.

The base of this dessert is salted caramel ice cream. Swirled throughout are ribbons of peanut butter icing, peanut butter fudge, and miniature peanut butter cups. I love ice cream with lots of chunks, so naturally, this is right up my alley.

The peanut butter and fudge swirls are frozen, of course, so they have a nice snap when you bite into them. Since peanut butter is naturally salty, it pairs perfectly with salted caramel ice cream. This may be the best Wegmans product money can buy for sweet and salty combo lovers!

7. Best Cheese: 18-Months Aged Medium Gouda

If you’ve ever been to Wegmans, you’ll know that their cheese section is expansive. From giant barrels to refrigerated displays, there are easily over 100 cheeses to choose from.

My go-to is their 18 Months Aged Medium Gouda. It’s the type of cheese that almost everyone will love, and you’ll feel like a cheese connoisseur as you eat it. It’s been aged for eighteen months, which brings out the naturally sweet butterscotch flavor of the gouda.

The eighteen months of aging also means that this cow cheese has developed crunchy little crystals, which bring a pleasant crunch to your eating experience. It has sweet caramel notes while remaining savory overall. Whenever I make a cheese board for a get-together, it’s always the first one to disappear from the board!

8. Best Bread: Organic Rosemary

Wegmans’ bakery section boasts an impressive array of breads. The Organic Rosemary is one of their most popular breads of all time and also happens to be my favorite.

The ingredient list here is super short: organic wheat flour, water, sea salt, rosemary, yeast, and olive oil. This simple combination makes for a bread where every high-quality ingredient can be tasted.

The loaf has plenty of fresh rosemary throughout, which brings an earthy, woodsy flavor to the bread. The naturally tangy sourdough makes a perfect companion to the rosemary and sea salt, and none of the flavors are overpowering. This is one of the best Wegmans products out there, and it’s my go-to bread for buttered toast, sandwiches, and homemade croutons.

9. Best Sandwich: Spicy Turkey Avocado Sandwich

If you’re craving a sandwich at Wegmans, there are two ways you can go. Their sub shop creates custom hot or cold subs. Or you can pick up one of their pre-made refrigerated sandwiches.

If you ask me, I say go for the refrigerated section and make a beeline for their Spicy Turkey Avocado Sandwich. This is one of the best Wegmans products for a handful of reasons, the main two being texture and flavor.

The sandwich is made with 6-seed bread, oven-roasted turkey breast, havarti cheese, avocado, spicy mayo, lettuce, and a dash of Cyprus sea salt. The flavor here is fresh and straightforward. There’s barely any spice besides a tiny bit coming from the mayo, so don’t let the “spicy” descriptor scare you off.

Texture-wise, the havarti, mayo, and avocado bring a luxurious, creamy feel to the sandwich, with the tomato and lettuce keeping things fresh. If I’m in a rush and need a quick lunch, this is the sandwich I always go for.

10. Best Vegan Food: Vegan Grain Bowl

Wegmans has a variety of offerings for those who are on a gluten-free, vegan, or keto diet. Out of their vegan food options, my favorite is the Vegan Grain Bowl. I’m not a vegan, but this veggie-packed powerhouse is one of the easiest (and most delicious) ways to get a good dose of protein and vegetables.

This bowl is made with quinoa, chickpeas, corn, sweet potato, kale, and edamame. A lemon garlic sauce ties everything together and brightens up all those flavors. The veggies taste fresh and have tons of flavor, which is enhanced by the lemon garlic sauce.

Just like their Chicken Shawarma Grain Bowl that I mentioned before, this is the perfect meal to keep in the freezer and heat up when you’re short on time but want something filling and healthy.
