New Aldi Finds You Can Score This Week

Aldi Finds – Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

Every Wednesday, Aldi releases a handful of new products known as “Aldi Finds.” These items are limited, meaning once they’re gone, they’re gone. I went to Aldi to see what’s new this week (October 9 – October 15), and this week’s Aldi Finds include pumpkin danishes, cocktail-inspired pizzas, an assortment of autumnal coffees, and more. If you’re wondering which are worth picking up for a taste, here’s my list.

1. Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Bloody Mary Pizza ($4.99)

I prefer my Bloody Mary in liquid form, but I was curious enough about this Bloody Mary pizza to pick it up on my Aldi run this week. This thin-crust pizza features a Bloody Mary-style sauce (which I assume just means it’s tomato-based with some spices in it), along with mozzarella, garlic herb chicken, black olives, caramelized onions, bacon, and a garnish of celery.

I’m not sure how I feel about celery as a pizza topping, but the caramelized onion and garlic chicken was enough to sway me to give it a try!

2. Specially Selected Smoked Mozzarella Ravioli ($2.99)

The newest flavor in Aldi’s ravioli lineup is Smoked Mozzarella, which is made with ricotta, mozzarella, black pepper, and parsley. This pairs well with any sauce you can think of – my guess is that it tastes very similar to a classic ravioli but with a slightly more savory, smoky flavor.

3. Barissimo Coffee Flavors of Fall ($6.99)

This little pack of K-cups is like an advent calendar for your mug. It comes with twelve different coffee flavors, each inspired by a different fall treat. I had to get one for myself, and my most anticipated flavors are oatmeal cookie, caramel crumb bun, coconut macaroon, and, of course, pumpkin pie.

At just $6.99 per pack, you’ll only pay about $0.50 per cup. That’s much less than you’d pay for a coffee at any chain store these days.

4. Bake Shop Pumpkin Strip Danish ($3.45)

The only way to possibly improve upon a Danish is to add pumpkin. This pastry is made with a flaky, buttery crust, along with pumpkin spice and a sweet, simple icing. It looks like there’s also some sort of crumble on top. Bake Shop, the brand making this Danish, is one of my favorite Aldi brands, so I’m excited to try this.

5. Specially Selected Fall Harvest Mac & Cheese ($2.99)

This boxed mac and cheese comes with a cheese sauce made with pumpkin, butternut squash, and cheddar. The pasta is a ridge elbow macaroni. I haven’t opened the package I bought yet, but I assume the cheese sauce comes in a packet, so all you need to do is whisk in some butter or milk.

6. L’oven Fresh Pumpkin Spice Streusel Bread ($3.99)

This Pumpkin Spice Streusel Bread is made with all the warming spices you’d typically find in a pumpkin pie, like cinnamon and nutmeg. Each loaf comes with twelve pre-sliced pieces of bread, which would be delicious with some honey butter or soaked in an egg batter for an autumnal French toast.

It looks like there are bits of something inside the bread. I couldn’t tell from the packaging, but it seems like they’re bits of cinnamon sugar.

7. Specially Selected Pumpkin Maple or Butternut Squash Soup ($3.89)

Two autumnal soups hit the Aldi Finds aisle this week – the first is butternut squash, and the other is pumpkin maple. Just pour into a bowl, heat, and serve with a slice of buttered sourdough for dipping. Plus, you can use the sturdy glass jar for overnight oats or chicken stock afterward.

8. SeaMazz Orange Roughy ($7.99)

Orange roughy is a mild, slightly sweet fish that pairs nicely with almost any ingredient you can think of – butter, garlic, parmesan, all that good stuff. Right now, you can get a 12-ounce pack of skinless, boneless filets for $7.99.

9. Jiffy Baking Mix ($3.78)

A box of Jiffy Baking Mix can be used to make dozens (if not hundreds) of different recipes. It’s a base that will do well in both sweet and savory settings – think muffins, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, and biscuits.

10. Campbell’s Cooking Sauces ($3.49)

Making sauces from scratch is one of the more time-consuming cooking tasks, so Campbell’s saves us a ton of time with these premade cooking sauces. I chose the Creamy Parmesan sauce, which is suggested for use with chicken or veggies.

There was also a beef stew flavor, which pairs best with beef (shocker, I know). Aldi’s website says there’s also a Sweet & Sour, Sweet Teriyaki, and Sesame Chicken cooking sauce available, but I didn’t see them on my Aldi trip.

11. Little Debbie Fall Party Cakes ($3.19)

I don’t think these party cakes from Little Debbie actually taste any different than their regular vanilla snack cakes, but they have some cute autumnal sprinkles on them, which makes them Fall Party Cakes.

These cakes come in a pack of ten, and they’re perfect for packing in a lunch box as a treat for the kids or throwing in your bag as a midday snack for yourself.

12. Priano Sorrentina or Four Cheese Gnocchi ($3.19)

You can choose from two different types of gnocchi in Aldi’s frozen section this week. The Sorrentina gnocchi features mozzarella cheese and a spiced tomato sauce, and the Four Cheese gnocchi is paired with a creamy, cheesy sauce.

13. Old El Paso Soups ($2.48)

As far as I’m concerned, soup season is in full swing. Stock up on some jumbo cans of Old Paso Soup in three different flavors this week. There’s a Chicken Cheese Enchilada Soup, a Chicken Tortilla Soup, and a Chipotle Corn Chowder Soup.
