Aldi Finds: What’s New This Week

Aldi Finds – Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

Every Wednesday, Aldi releases a handful of new products known as “Aldi Finds.” These items are limited, meaning once they’re gone, they’re gone. I went to Aldi to see what’s new this week (December 4 – December 10), and this week’s Aldi Finds include many holiday products, a flight of smoked salmon, lobster tails, a cheesecake sampler, and more. If you’re wondering which are worth picking up for a taste, here’s my list.

1. General Mills Gingerbread Toast Crunch Cereal ($3.92)

If you’re a lover of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, be sure to pick up this limited-edition Gingerbread flavor at Aldi this week. There’s also a Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch available in the same aisle. If I had to guess, these cereals probably taste very similar to the original but have some warming holiday spices to make breakfast extra festive.

2. Lofthouse Christmas Tree Sugar Cookies ($3.99)

I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve consumed these holiday sugar cookies over the years. In elementary school, we never went to a Christmas party or school event where they weren’t served. (Notably, they were always gone by the end of the night!)

And honestly, what’s not to love? These cookies have a crumbly, soft texture and are topped with decorative icing and sprinkles. Each box comes with ten cookies inside.

3. MyMochi Holiday Ice Cream ($4.69)

MyMochi ice cream is made with a sweet, chewy rice dough filled with creamy ice cream. The brand has two brand new holiday flavors at Aldi this week in the freezer section. There’s Cool Peppermint, which has peppermint ice cream with minty bits inside; Sugar Cookie, which has sugar cookie ice cream and sugar cookie chunks inside; and Hot Chocolate, with chocolate ice cream and mini marshmallows inside.

Each container holds 6 mochis. The Hot Cocoa flavors were completely sold out when I visited, so be sure to visit your local store soon if you want to get your hands on this dessert.

4. Poppi Holiday Edition Cranberry Fizz ($2.19)

Poppi, the better-for-you soda brand, has a new festive flavor on Aldi shelves this week – Cranberry Fizz! This sweet and tart soda only has 4 grams of sugar and contains good-for-your-gut prebiotics.

The jury is still out on just how healthy Poppi is, but there’s no denying that it’s a refreshing, delicious drink. I love their classic flavors, so I had to give this new one a try – I’ll report back with my findings!

5. Specially Selected Cinnamon Bun Spread ($2.79)

You’ve heard of peanut butter and cookie butter; now get ready for cinnamon bun butter! This spread has the same texture as Trader Joe’s famous cookie butter, but it has a warming, cozy cinnamon flavor to it.

Heat it up and drizzle some of this spread over your ice cream, or slather it on top of apple sliced or some toast. There’s also a Gingerbread Caramel spread in this week’s Aldi Finds, but it was completely sold out at my store by the time I visited.

6. El Sabroso Holiday Tortilla Chips ($2.69)

Somehow, snacks with holiday packaging and colors always taste better. And these holiday tortilla chips are as bright and in-your-face as it gets. Empty your bag of chips into a bowl before a party so that guests can get the full effect of the bright red and green chips.

Besides the color, they taste like any other tortilla chip, so serve these with guacamole, queso, salsa, or bean dip.

7. Specially Selected Cinnamon Churro Marshmallows ($3.49)

These gourmet marshmallows are almost too pretty to eat. Cut into perfect squares, the Cinnamon Churro flavor is dusted with cinnamon and sugar and is ready to grace your mug of hot cocoa.

If you want something more classic, there’s a vanilla bean-flavored marshmallow right next to these. Bonus: These marshmallows are naturally gluten- and fat-free, and they go for half the price of name-brand fancy marshmallows!

8. Specially Selected Mini Cinnamon Swirl Danish Pastries ($4.99)

These cinnamon swirl pastries are what you’d get if a cinnamon roll and a croissant had a baby. With a flaky, delicate crust and warm, gooey cinnamon swirl, these pastries are easy to pop in the air fryer or oven for a few minutes, and voilà — your home will be filled with the smell of freshly baked treats!

Each bag holds 8 pastries inside. If you prefer a fruity dessert, pick up the ready-to-bake raspberry Danish in the freezer section at Aldi this week.

9. Chobani Flip Peppermint Perfection (price in-store)

I thought I’d tried every Chobani Flip flavor, but then I found this Peppermint Perfection flavor. This limited-edition yogurt treat is made with vanilla Greek yogurt, dark chocolate cookies, dark chocolate, and peppermint chunks.

The mixture of tangy yogurt and cool peppermint doesn’t sound like the most enticing combination, but I picked it up so I could give it a try (for scientific purposes). Fingers crossed, they come out with another holiday flavor before the season is up – my vote is for something gingerbread-related.

10. Farm Rich Mozzarella Sticks ($6.59)

Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

Mozzarella sticks are one of those foods I only ever order if I’m eating out, so I was excited to find a take-home version at Aldi this week. These breaded mozzarella sticks are made with 100% real mozzarella cheese and have a crispy breading on the outside.

I also picked up some Aldi-branded marinara sauce to use for dipping, of course.

11. Specially Selected Cold Smoked Salmon Trio ($12.99)

Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

There are not many foods I dislike but smoked salmon happens to be one of them. However, I still had to get a photo of this awesome trio of smoked salmons, each inspired by a different drink.

The first salmon is red wine flavored and has intense notes of black currant throughout. The next salmon, inspired by an old-fashioned, has whiskey, dark cherry, and orange notes. Finally, the mojito-inspired version has lime, sugar, and rum notes.

This would make a fantastic gift for the lox-lover in your life, or it could be a fun White Elephant gift – just don’t keep it outside of the refrigerator for too long.

12. Belmont Cheesecake Sampler ($12.99)

Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

Belmont’s pies and cakes are some of my favorites from any grocery store, so I love it when they release samplers and I get to try a bunch of flavors at once. This new Aldi Find features four different cheesecake flavors: New York style, chocolate marble, amaretto, and raspberry swirl.

Since these cheesecakes come frozen, be sure to thaw them for at least a few hours in the fridge and then on the counter before serving.

13. Specially Selected North Atlantic Lobster Tails ($12.99)

Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

Every few months, Aldi gets lobster tails in their inventory to feature in the Aldi Finds aisle. Each time I buy them, I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality, especially considering each lobster tail comes out to a little less than $7.

These wild-caught cold-water lobster tails weigh in at just around 4 ounces. That’s a pretty standard size for a restaurant, but the Aldi version is about one-fourth or one-fifth of the price that a restaurant would charge.

14. Lunch Buddies Crustless PB&J Sandwiches ($3.69)

Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

This dupe for Uncrustables, creatively called “Crustless,” is just a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the crust. Each box comes with 4 sandwiches, which are a super quick breakfast, lunch, or snack option.

I don’t recommend heating these up in the microwave to thaw them – instead, leave your sandwich in the fridge overnight before enjoying it. This way, the peanut butter and jelly won’t get runny like they would in the microwave.

15. Popcornopolis Snack Pack ($8.99)

Credit: Samantha Jenkins/Shopfood.com

These popcorn cones are a cheap, easy, and adorable stocking stuffer. Each pack features two caramel corn cones with an elf on the front, two zebra (AKA chocolate-covered) popcorn cones with Santa on them, and two kettle corn cones with a happy-looking Rudolph on the front.

If you do the math, you’re getting each popcorn cone for just a little over $1.
